My summary of holiday 1st of May 2016. Last Sunday I went for a trip 226 Km. The weather was not so good. I was sitting down most of the time, approximately 8 hours, the seat was not as comfortable as the one in Qantas. But Luis pants made lot of difference. There was plenty of food & kept coming, there was a lot of help along the way nearly 2000 of dedicated volunteers.
It was a Great DAY!!!! :-)
I had a puncture on the bike the wind & rain did not help. the last 40 km to go, parts of my body saying you should have done more training? anyway we finish nearly last, But coming down that chute for the 15 times under the cut off time it is hard to explain Big Thank You to Luis my coach, My training partner Donna (my wife) support from my Kids family & friends.

TOYOTA IRONMAN 2014
Ironman Race 2014
First I'd like to say a big thank you to Dr Jeffery Hughes who helped me achieve and finish an Ironman. In the last 10 years I've had 2 major shoulder reconstructions and I did not think it was possible for me to finish an Ironman.
Donna and I used to do the Ironman race up in Forster for many years we love it.
... Glenda & Ken Baggs are two lovely people and we had the pleasure meeting them many years ago.
We hold the utmost respect for them, they have put their heart & soul in to the races and also taking care of the triathletes in many ways.
Back in February of this year, a friend of mine Luis Lopez told me that Ken was doing his last race and maybe I should compete. I was very keen and Donna had said that if I wanted to do it she will support me.
Even if I didn't finish, we could at least be there for the special occasion. So I registered and started training.
On race day I had a good swim but the cycle was little hard. The first lap was good, 3 and a half hours and the second lap was 5 hours due to the wind. It made it hard on my arm and shoulder and lets just say they were not comfortable. Total Cycle was 8 and a half hours. The run was good but a little slow - 6 hours plus. The end result was that I finished in 16 hours 51 minutes.
I was very happy to finish but most of all I was honoured to receive the medal from Ken Baggs the race Director and Donna.
Ken & Glenda Baggs your are simply the best!!!!!!
